Coastal Painting in Period Frame

This traditional coastal scene was brought in by one of our customers who wanted an ornate gold frame in keeping with the same period.

Together, we chose this 2.5" wide Classic Reeded profile from our Traditional English Handmade collection, finished with a dark antique wash. Inside this, we added a slip moulding - finished with a gold leaf-effect - to add extra width to the frame and to create a 'step down' in to the painting which helps to draw the viewer's eye towards the picture:
