Stunning Zardozi Embroidery framed in deep black satin frame

Perhaps most recognisable as the bejeweled tapestries and hangings seen in classic regal Indian and Middle-Eastern settings, Zardozi metalwork embroidery consists of finely woven gold and silver wires embroidered into intricate patterns, and adorned with precious and semi-precious stones and other artifacts.

We have framed a few of these incredible pieces over the years and we've always been astounded by the attention to detail and patience needed to create such a complicated design.

This piece, offset against a deep black velvet background, only needed a very simple black frame so as not to distract from the vibrant colours it contains. We used a deep black Soho moulding (ref: 345082) and a bespoke black spacer to ensure that the threads and stones did not touch the glass at any point.
