This large papyrus was brought into us in 2024 by a lady who'd picked it up on her travels to Egypt, and wanted a very thin frame for it.
Normally, for larger items, we advise our customers to choose a moulding which has a wide profile so that once the four lengths have been mitred and joined together, the frame is strong enough to hold the artwork and glass.
However, in addition to our wooden mouldings, we now stock a range of aluminium frames which, thanks to their strength and durability, are perfect for a minimal 'barely there' look on larger pieces of artwork.
The simple visual outline they create also makes them a great choice for contemporary pictures, especially posters.
There are several widths and profiles to choose from, and – having been anodised, powder coated or wrapped in laminate – they come in a great mix of colours and finishes from glossy or brushed metallics through to primary colours and woodgrain-effects.
If you have a large piece of art or a mirror which you would like framed in a simple, thin, contemporary frame, call 01246 554338 or email sales@bramptonframing.com for advice.
