Framed Oil Painting of Impressionist Landscape

This Impressionist-style picture brought to us to frame was painted in oils on board - rather than canvas - and so didn't require stretching before framing.

With it being an oil painting, no glass was required either although the option is available to customers should they prefer it, to provide extra protection for example. It's useful to note however, that oil paints can take many years to fully dry, meaning that if they are placed in a sealed package behind glass, the chemicals in the paints can sublimate - transform from solid to vapor - and fog up the glass. This doesn't harm the artwork, provided the glass isn't touching the surface of the painting, but the frame would need to be unpackaged and the glass cleaned off.

For the frame, our customer chose a black stained moulding from our Marais range, with subtle orange highlights and a greyish patina, revealing the texture of the wood grain beneath - 727593.
