We were asked by our customer to frame a signed copy of a speech which David Cameron had given in 2013, while he was Prime Minister, on the relationship between the UK and the EU.
To frame the 13 page-long speech, printed on Downing Street headed paper, we began by creating two mounts each with 13 apertures, using our computerised mountboard cutter. Both mounts were 3.5mm thick and 'solid core', meaning the core of the mount was the same as the colour on the front. (We also offer mounts with a white core or a black core.)
The top mount was off-white while the mount beneath it was black in order to create some definition between the edges of each page of the speech and the top mount.
For added interest, we used a black picture frame moulding with a silver inner edge. The frame was then glazed with Museum glass which reduces reflections to less than 1% whilst offering 99% UV filter to prevent fading.
The finished display was eventually put to auction at The Derbyshire Charity Clay Shoot - an annual fundraising event in support of local charities.
