Islands in the British Ocean Antique map - Uv filtration

Our customers previous frame has been flood damaged, its washlined mount needed replacement, as did the frame and backing board. We spent some time with our customer choosing a Larson Juhl frame which would complement and not detract from the gentle colours in this antique map .

We choose a museum grade cotton rag mount board, which is 100% archival grade.

Framer Martin Bower GCF recreated the wash lines of the original mount.

A museum grade glass made by Tru Vue was used, which not only provides 99% UV filtration but also offers a very low level of reflection.

The map of Islands in the British Ocean is now protected more many years to come. Our customer was very pleased and has since brought in several more items for framing.
