To think that the vast majority of people who bring us cross stitches to frame are hobbyists always leaves us impressed at how accurate and detailed the pieces are, and this one is no exception.
We found the perfect shade of green to mount the artwork with; it really draws the eye straight in to focus on the bright yellow daffodils.
As with all of the cross stitches brought in to us for framing, we hand stretch and stitch the piece in place - working to Fine Art Trade Guild standards. This means that no adhesives are used, allowing it to be taken back out at any time in the future without any damage to the material.
Ensuring the lattice of stitches is taut enough to prevent the fabric from sagging, but also loose enough to ensure it stays flat and doesn't pucker, is very important. If not done correctly, the cross stitch will never sit properly under the mounts or inside the frame.
The customer chose a dark wood frame in keeping with others in their home, and we finished by adding glass to protect their hard work from dust and accidental damage.
We have been framing cross stitches since 2006 so you can trust us with your treasured item.
