These lovely ceramic ornaments were brought in by a customer who's mother had collected and stored them for many years, so they were in perfect condition when they arrived.
It seemed a shame to keep them boxed, so we made a bespoke multi aperture frame to show them off while keeping them protected.
Each ceramic piece was hand sewn onto an acid-free undermount to secure it in place and these were arranged in order to create a portrait style frame.
We looked through several mount options while our customer was in the workshop and decided to go for a double mount using a sandy coloured top mount and a 4mm reveal of dark green - to compliment the colours in the flowers.
So each month had its own aperture which were carefully spaced and separated from the glass with a bespoke made spacer. This created the floating effect that we had talked about with the customer.
Our framers are really happy with this project and the customer loves it! We have years of experience with ceramic framing and multi - aperture framing, so please get in touch if you have a similar project.
