Framed Tower of London Ceramic Poppy

We have been lucky enough to frame quite a few of the 888,246 ceramic poppies created by local artist Paul Cummins for his stunning installation at the Tower of London in 2018.

After buying their poppies at auction (with proceeds going to charitable causes) our customers brought them to us, each one having a different idea in mind as to how they wanted them framing.

Some wanted red picture frame moulding and black mounts, others wanted black picture frame moulding and snow white mounts. In this example, our customer chose a gold ornate moulding from our appropriately named Imperial collection, with a green window mount positioned at the front of the frame and a paler undermount beneath.

To ensure the frame could accommodate the ceramic, our Workshop added another moulding to the back of the frame to ensure it was deep enough for the 3D item, and painted it to match the ornate one.
