This Tara McPherson print was framed for one of our framers here at Brampton framing. James is a GCF advanced qualified framer and has years of experience with framing art prints.
Our workshop has changed quite a lot since this project was completed in terms of technology but the framing methods are still the same.
This art print is triple mounted using colours that are featured in the artwork to tie it in with the frame. The mounts were measured and cut by hand, then carefully stuck together using a special double sided tape.
All framing projects include an acid free undermount to protect the artwork from any damage over time. This is combined with an acid free hinging tape which is used to hold the artwork in place and secure the mounts.
Once the mounts, backing and Tru Vue Ultra Vue glass had been cut, we were able to cut and join the frame to fit. As with all projects, we sealed the frame at the back and secured the hanging fixings in place.
