Framed Beret and Medals

An ex-serviceman brought in this fascinating selection of military badges, medals, accessories and certificates.

We always ensure we spend as much time as the customer needs looking at different mounting, framing and glazing options. In this instance we decided on a dark green multi aperture window mount over a dark red undermount, with each item carefully positioned to ensure an overall sense of balance.

Once the bespoke layout was established we then chose a black stained flat profile moulding with a bevel to help draw the eye towards the contents of the frame.

In line with Fine Art Trade Guild (FATG) standards, all the items were framed to conservation standard, meaning that no harmful adhesives were used to fix them in place. Instead, all the 3D objects were stitched into position so that the procedure would be completely reversible.

Strategically-placed spacers also create interesting depth to the display, with the certificates sitting at the front of the frame while the objects are set towards the back.

All in all, a fine showcase for our customer's achievements.
