This priceless jacket, signed on both the front and back by members of the Canadian 2012 Olympic team, had to be framed 'double-sided' so that all the signatures on both sides could be seen.
When making a double-sided frame, the front and back presentation are equally important. We constructed two frames using a smooth, black contemporary profile moulding (link below) almost as deep as it is wide, joined together with wooden dowels within.
Using an almost invisible hanging method, we were able to create the illusion of the jacket seemingly floating between the two panes of glass.
We then used our computerised mountboard cutter to precision cut an aperture in the mountboard in order to display the nameplate - which on this occasion was supplied by our customer - with information about the jacket.
Finally, we attached fasteners to the top of the frame so that it could be hung from a ceiling - rather than against a wall - and seen from both sides.
A big job but worth it for such an incredible piece of sporting history.
